9. Superman, Son Of Zod
This version of the character, named Hernan Guerra, comes from the Justice League: Gods and Monsters universe, launched in a 2015 animated movie. Following this release the characters from this universe have also made their way onto comic book pages.
Superman is fathered by General Zod rather than Jor-El. Hernan is still on the side of justice, although operates with less mercy than the traditional Superman, often killing human enemies who stand no chance against his Herculean might.
This difference in temperament comes as a result of him having had a troubled childhood, raised by undocumented immigrants, and no doubt inheriting some traits of his villainous Kryptonian father.
Hernan is joined by two other heroes who with him comprise the Justice League of their world. One of these characters is an alternate version of Batman named Dr. Kirk Langstrom who accidentally turned himself into a vampire with a failed scientific experiment.
The third hero in the league is Bekka; an alternate version of Wonder Woman, and widow to Darkseid’s son Orion.
