9. Suicide Squad: Hell To Pay

Batman Under the Red Hood
Warner Bros.

This, in many ways, is the era of the antihero. Everybody loves a dark, edgy character who blurs the lines between good and evil. So it was little surprise when DC decided to bring its most popular band of good bad guys to movie screens in 2018. The result was a brilliant character driven story that every element needed to get the audience invested.

It showcased Deadshot’s mental pendulum swinging from devotion to his work to the love for his daughter. Amanda Waller’s desperation for clinging on to her life was an excellent paradigm for humans struggling with their mortality. And finally Bronze Tiger’s unbiased lens on life serves as a unique commentary on everything that is happening.

And despite all the bloodshed and betrayals, the most important conflict was in the end decided by an act of kindness.
