10 Comic Book Animals Who Should Be In A Movie

As we head into the next phase of superhero movies, the only thing that's missing is some of the super pets that have graced the pages of the comics over the years.

Animals in comic books have been a thing seemingly forever, from Superman's dog and sometimes side-kick Krypto to animals like Detective Chimp that carry their own books. There's a childlike fancy to seeing Superman team up with a dog that has his powers and wears a cape, something that is very innocent. It's a reminder of that purity of comics that we sometimes forget about, especially in today's age of ultra-violence. It can be easy to forget some of these critters, but they're all wonderful characters in their own right. Some of them have created unique stories, while others are simply icons that will never be forgotten. Heck, Krypto even got his own cartoon back in 2005 that ran for 39 episodes and showed that old dogs can still learn some new tricks. Not to mention that Rocket Raccoon will be appearing in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, voiced by Bradley Cooper. As we head into the next phase of superhero movies from DC and Marvel, the only thing that's missing is some of the super pets that have graced the pages of the comics over the years. We're making a first step with Rocket, so it could be the beginning of a lot more of them making their way to the big screen. After all, it's hard to imagine Ben Affleck's Batman teaming up with Ace and not get thrilled. So hit that next button, and we'll take a good look at ten comic book animals that need to have their feature film debut.
