10 Comic Book Characters The Joker Has Killed

8. Mr. Freeze

The Joker Man Who Laughs
DC Comics

The Joker clearly doesn't subscribe to the whole 'enemy of my enemy is my friend' concept, as proven in Chuck Dixon's Robin II miniseries when he whacks fellow Batman villain Mr Freeze for stealing his minions.

The story sees Mister J bust out of Arkham Asylum to find that his gang are now under the employ of Victor Fries. Needless to say, the villain doesn't take too kindly to this, so he tracks the cryogenics enthusiast down and confronts him, taking him out with a dose of high voltage from his lethal hand buzzer.

"You iced him, boss," says one of the Joker's henchmen after he delivers the coup de grace. Clearly, this guy had been watching too many Joel Schumacher movies.

Due to his popularity on the Batman animated series which followed, Mr Freeze was revived during the Knightfall storyline in the 1990s, but since Dixon's original plan was to have him die, this goes down as an official Joker kill.
