10 Comics To Read Before Batman vs Superman Movie

Let's put that extra time on our hands to good use now the movie's delayed until 2016.

The recent news that Zack Snyder's Man of Steel sequel - known now as Batman vs. Superman - will be pushed back from July 2015 to May 2016 means one thing above all: more time to churn the DC rumor mill! While the news is simultaneously encouraging (because the writing process won't be nearly as rushed) and disappointing (because we have to wait), it does give us more time to speculate on which versions of these classic characters we'll see on the silver screen. As we don't know at this point what shape the DC Cinematic Universe will take in the early stages, much of the recommended reading is based on the casting of Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), as well as what we've seen of Kal-El's story so far in Snyder's Man of Steel. A million rumors have flown in recent months regarding new suits, gadgets, heroes, villains and plotlines, but the story arcs that get more to the heart of the relationships between these characters are the ones that will likely provide the best source material. These could be integral to a fuller understanding of the film and, in turn, of the fledgeling DC Cinematic Universe. As always, additional suggestions are encouraged in the comments section below. As we learn more about Batman vs. Superman and the long-rumored Justice League movie, more specific sources will definitely arise. For now, enjoy 10 comics recommendations to read before the film....
