10 Essential Horror Comics Fans Must Read

9. 30 Days Of Night

Uzumaki Manga
IDW

From Dark Horse to IDW now, and we find another modern horror classic, 30 Days Of Night. AKA the only vampire comic that everyone can agree is actually legit terrifying. Mostly because the vampires in this story are about as far from being vampires while still having enough similarities to warrant the name.

The story is simple and yet terrifying. An Alaskan town has to endure an entire month of absolute darkness because of the climate and location. However, this year, a pack of vampires have taken this as the perfect opportunity to feed without having to worry about their primary weakness for an entire month. Frankly, how could they possibly say no?

What follows is some of the best vampire horror ever made, with teeth grinding suspense as the entire town is whittled down to a few survivors in just a few days. With those managing to survive just barely scraping by against the overwhelming horde throughout the 30 days of night. The best they can hope for is some kind of outside assistance coming to get them out of there, and when even that doesn't work, well... needless to say it gets pretty dicey.
