10 Graphic Novels DCEU Fans Must Read

Like the DCEU? Struggling to think of what comics to read? We've got you covered.

So far the DCEU hasn't quite managed to capture the same audience of the MCU, but in the department in which both companies originated (comics), DC is currently out performing Marvel with their brilliant Rebirth (and now DC Universe) banner, with the likes of Tom King, Scott Snyder and Marvel turncoat Brian Michael Bendis leading the charge.

Over the years, DC has published a multitude of fantastic stories, not just during Rebirth, many of which have been (or will be) used as the basis for DCEU films.

Similar to Marvel, although better due to their longer history of collecting issues into graphic novels, DC shares the irritating habit of making their books difficult to get into, with several different continuities (Earth One, the aforementioned Rebirth, Injustice etc.) and hundreds of different characters, all contributing to the sense that comics aren't exactly the most new-comer friendly medium.

Yet, as we did for fans of the MCU, we are here to help start you off on your panel-hopping-adventures by recommending some of our picks for comics to enrich your DC knowledge (or just give you something good to read instead).

10. Green Lantern Corps: Fearsome

DC Comics

Despite being under the New 52 relaunch banner of 2011, a reboot infamous for quote unquote 'ruining' a lot of what made the original DC universe great, Peter J. Tomasi (a major player at DC, most recently having written the wonderful Super Sons series) brings the Green Lanterns into this new era with a bang.

The book contains a lot of action and a fairly emotional ending, with fan favourites John Stewart and Guy Gardener acting as the leads of sort. While this first volume may not contain the likes of Hal Jordan or Sinestro, it really doesn't need to, with Tomasi's always excellent writing allowing the book to stand on its own two green legs.

With an upcoming Green Lantern Corps movie already rumoured to be in the works, now is the perfect time to get acquainted with the emerald warriors.
