10 Graphic Novels MCU Fans Must Read

8. The Mighty Captain Marvel

It's always better to get familiar with comic book characters before a film releases, and that's no different with Carol Danvers, AKA Captain Marvel. As The Mighty Captain Marvel is the most recent run available in graphic novel form for the character, there's no better place to get a head start on the competition, and recite all that cosmic trivia in no time at all.

This run of Captain Marvel is wonderful for beginners as it only really relies on small elements of Civil War II, meaning that you can jump right into the book. The first volume of the series also re-explores the Captain's origin, minus the baggage of Carol's years as Ms. Marvel, Binary etc., plus giving us a good look at Alpha Flight and Carol's closest friends.

While Margaret Stohl's iteration of the mighty Captain may not be the most celebrated among the Carol Corps (that honour goes to Kelly Sue DeConnick) it is a brilliant introduction to the character, post Civil War.
