10 Insane Alternate Versions Of The Joker You Won’t Believe Exist

9. The White Knight - Batman: White Knight

Joker White Knight
DC Comics

Weirdly, one thing that's rarely touched upon in alternate versions of Gotham is a reformed Joker, with the closest prior to Batman: White Knight being the heroic Jokester introduced to readers in the Countdown series.

Which makes the White Knight series all the better, as seeing a legitimately reformed Joker makes for an absolutely fascinating storyline - made doubly interesting when the medication he is taking to hold back his villainous self ceases to work.

It would seem almost impossible to create a comic where you hope that Jack Napier is going to defeat the Joker, but it's something that Batman: White Knight fixates on until you're rooting for the Joker... against the Joker, and against all logic.

With so many comics having the Clown Prince pretend to reform, only for it to be revealed he didn't at all, it's refreshing to see a series that depicts a Joker who genuinely wants to fix himself, and is desperately fighting against his evil urges to try and be good every step of the way.

I like my comics like I like my coffee - in huge, unquestionably unhealthy doses.
