10 Insane Supervillain Schemes You Won't Believe

9. Swamp Thing Brings Supes To The Green

While Swamp Thing isn't a villain per se, his attempts to mentally (and physically) "assimilate" with Superman because the Man of Steel isn't quite understanding of him are categorically villainous actions, given he would have been equally successful just by having a proper chat. As it is, the two immediately turn to fighting, seemingly to prove that the plot of Injustice is only two fights away at any given time in the DC universe.

More importantly, what Swamp Thing finds out - that Superman does not yet consider himself as truly belonging in their world and on their planet - would have been something that likely could have been extracted from a talk about their feelings, and so forcibly merging him with the Green seems to be absolute overkill for what it actually achieves, all badass visuals aside.

This said, the annual does manage to be an effective way to set the stage for the rest of the series, both in an engaging and dynamic plot and the promise of yet more weirdness to come.
