10 Most Important Events In Batman History

9. Ending The War - No Man's Land

Batman Black Glove
DC Comics

No Man's Land is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most revolutionary stories in Batman's history - meaning it almost naturally earns a place in any list of important events in Batman's history.

Or, more specifically, Batman's endless attempts to protect and fix Gotham after it's cut off from the rest of society and left to rot earn it that place. Despite Gotham being deprived of both power and government, the Dark Knight sticks around, furiously clawing the city back to normal bit by bit.

While it's Luthor who technically 'saves' Gotham by using his insane wealth to rebuild the city, he only does this because the Bat sends him a friendly word asking him to do so - and even then, it takes Batman to stop Lex's evil plans when it's revealed that he only helped in order to try and illegally obtain Gotham's most expensive buildings. Philanthropy, thy name is not Luthor.
