9. Psylocke

Elizabeth "Betsy" Braddock started out in the books as a supporting character to her brother, Captain Britain, but has since been fleshed out to become a significant player in the Marvel Universe. Not only is she more popular than her brother, she holds a great deal more power thanks to the changes she has gone through since her creation.

Psylocke's powers have changed considerably over the years with her current manifestation placing her at the top tier of Marvel's telepaths. When she started out, she had limited precognitive telepathy, but after transferring her mind to another woman's body, she gained new abilities, and her old ones got something of a boost.

In addition to her precognitive abilities, Psylocke can generate psychic blades for use in combat. She also picked up empathic and telekinetic powers over the years, but the events of the "Dark Angel Saga" resulted in the most significant evolution of her powers to date.

Thanks to Jean Grey from the "Age of Apocalypse" timeline, Psylocke's full telepathic powers were unlocked. The increase in power pushed her well beyond her original limits making her one of the most powerful telepaths in the Marvel Universe. She has since been classified as an Omega-Level Mutant and rivals Professor X in telepathic ability.
