Comic Con has expanded to much more than comics these days, with new movies, TV shows and celebrity panels tending to dominate proceedings much more than paper and ink stories. However, the popularity of collectibles is still as strong as ever.
Plenty of companies have certain merchandise only available within those hallowed conference centre walls... or on eBay soon after.
Invariably, we wish we could own them all, but the article would just be infinitely long if they were all listed. In chopping it down to a top ten, it can be hard to know exactly what another person would value more highly than another person.
Case in point, someone once paid $5,300 for Scarlett Johansson’s used tissue. In fairness, she said she got the cold from Justin Timberlake, so that’s two lots of celebrity germs... yay?
While the appeal of Scarlett Johansson’s snot might not be universal, money is. These collectibles are some of the rarest, most valuable (and in some cases, just most bonkers) items Comic Con has ever produced. Wouldn’t it be great to own them all?
