10 Stupidest Avengers Of All Time

2. Red Hulk

Red Hulk pretty much epitomises everything that’s gone wrong with the Hulk’s comics this last decade, so of course he found a way on to the Avengers in the January of 2011.

Created by Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuiness, this newer, redder Hulk was actually an alteration of General ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, a character who, for a long period of time at least, was one of Bruce Banner’s most formidable adversaries.

Billed as a hero who had the strength of the Hulk with the tactical nous of a military leader, Rulk, as he was affectionately dubbed by fans, carved out a role on the Avengers for two years before shifting across to the Thunderbolts. Despite being able to boast a relatively long tenure on the team, however, Rulk did little else other than throw around muscle and serve as the group’s edgier, generic, Hulk brand replacement.

Ross has now departed the Red motif thankfully, but the Rulk persona still persists with Robert Maverick, who's yet to receive his Avengers call-up.
