10 Things You Didn't Know About Loki

Little known facts about Marvel's God of Mischief.

Up until recently, to most people at least, Loki was just a name they'd heard in reference to Norse mythology. They may well have heard his name mentioned in movies like The Mask - as the titular item belonged to the God of Mischief - but as an actual character he was someone they had barely encountered. However, since 2011, when the Thor movie brought the character to the screen - played absolutely brilliantly by the wonderful Tom Hiddleston, nonetheless - he has become a more prominent figure in popular culture. However, to most people, that Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the character is the only one with which they are familiar - but he is, of course, based on the one who has been around in the Marvel comic book world since in 1962 in Journey Into Mystery #85 (or in 1949's Venus #6 if you want to include the Timely Comics version, who was a predecessor to his Marvel counterpart, as Timely Comics were an early arm of what became the most popular comic book company in the world). Therefore, there are a lot of things that the general public don't know about the Marvel version of the character. They know he's Odin's adopted son and therefore Thor's brother, they know he's capable of good but mostly gives in to his selfish tendencies to act evil, they know he's fairly adept with magic and that he craves power, but there's a lot more to him than that all of that. This article is going to look at some lesser known facts about the comic book version. So, without further ado - and obviously based on the assumption that you aren€™t a massive Loki fan or total Marvel obsessive already €“ here are ten things you didn€™t know about Loki€
