10 Things Everyone Always Gets Wrong About The Avengers

8. There Is Only One True Avengers Team

Ever since their inception back in 1963, the Avengers have been defending the Earth single handily. No matter what is thrown at them, from this planet's villains or from those of the alien persuasion, the New York Avengers are the front line for any kind of invasion.

Well, you might want to tell that to the West Coast Avengers, or the Young Avengers, or the Dark Avengers. Hell, you might even want to mention it to the Great Lakes Avengers, or the U.S. Avengers, or perhaps the Secret Avengers.

Despite there being a litany of different Avengers teams, there seems to be a misconception that the main roster are the only ones allowed to be considered true Avengers. The fact remains, however, that if you tag a team with the moniker, Avengers, then they should be seen as such.

Even if the Great Lakes Avengers have only ever been a joke, or there for Deadpool to abuse to his heart's content, some of the other teams have been involved in some very important storylines, such as 'Secret Wars' and 'Avengers Disassembled'.

Sadly, unless it has Tony Stark or Captain America's hand involved, then most fans seem to believe that it isn't worth their time.
