10 Things Marvel Wants You To Forget About Elektra

10. They Brought Her Back Without Frank Miller's Permission

One of the more, shall we say, notorious urban legends to have made its way through the industry, was that Marvel refused to seek Frank Miller's permission to resurrect Elektra despite having reached an agreement with the writer years prior. The character was, as Miller has often joked, meant to stay dead. And while Elektra has received some killer treatment since she came back from the grave, there is a lot that can be said about messing with the creative vision that Miller initially had in mind.

Indeed, Natchios' resurrection in 1994 would never have happened, if the Born Again scribe had gotten his way, and that would've been fine, really. While Elektra has gotten some good treatment since returning from the grave, most if it has really been rather bad, and there was nothing to stop creators from exploring the character's years before her death at the hands of Bullseye either.

Of course, Elektra hasn't been the only comic book character to get a resurrection over the years, but she's had so many. Like, at least four at this stage. Just cut it out.
