With War of the Realms heading into its endgame, and writers and artists moving about from book to book, what can you expect from the House of Ideas this August?

Well, according to Marvel's own solicitations, there will be a truckload of things to look forward to. From ongoing series to brand new books, from epic story arc endings to brand new events, it's going to be a busy time for comic book aficionados.

Having already taken a look at Marvel's June solits, it's time for us to once again pull back the curtain, and take a closer look at what can be expected from the House of Ideas over the last month of summer.

There's good news for you if you're a fan of Gwenpool or Spider-Gwen, some not so great news if you're a Major X guy or gal, and a possible event that could rival the one that they're currently in the throws of.

But one thing is for sure, there's going to be something coming out over that month that you can get your teeth into, whether you're obsessed with War of the Realms, or are already anticipating the next big thing from Venom writer Donny Cates...

10. Gwenpool Is Striking Back

Invisible Woman Adam Hughes
Marvel Comics

When the Unbelievable Gwenpool ended in 2018, it seemed that that was that for Gwendolyn Poole. She would be forever stuck in a permanent loop, in issue #25, talking to herself and reliving the whole comic over and over, which would've been a shame. But fear not, she's striking back, in a way that only someone with Pool attached to their name can.

Determined not to get stuck in comic book limbo for the rest of eternity, it seems that little Gwendolyn has decided to make her mark on the Marvel Universe by unmasking Spider-Man and, hopefully, picking up some actual super-powers along the way.

Written by Leah Williams (The Totally Awesome Hulk and Giant Man) and illustrated by David Baldeon (Domino and Spirits of Vengeance), Gwenpool Strikes Back is currently only a limited series.

But if there is still as much love for the character as there was on her first outing, then maybe, just maybe, the sales figures will be high enough to convince those in power that she deserves another crack at the big time.
