10 Underrated Supervillains Who Deserved Better

9. Alpha

Spider-Man Ezekiel
Marvel Comics

While Alpha is less evil and more a teen who totally isn't in control of his incredibly dangerous powers, there's still some real potential for him to serve as a much bigger threat to Spider-Man than he ever does in the comic continuity.

Alpha is the super-powered alias of Andrew Maguire, who is a largely average and ignored kid from Peter's high school. Much like Parker, Maguire also gains his powers through a lab accident that provides him with the ability to fly, project energy, as well as the classic abilities of super-strength and super-speed.

What it doesn't provide him with, however, is a way to modulate this power, as a mix of Maguire wanting to use his powers to the max to gain the attention he's been lacking, and the fact that his powers are continually growing more extreme, mean that Alpha basically begins to become a threat to the people he is trying to keep safe.

Well-meaning villains have always been an engaging subject, and Alpha's honest but misguided intentions make his character all the more interesting.
