20 Absolutely Masterful First Pages Of Comics

19. Daredevil #181

Daredevil 1811
Marvel

The story that kills Elektra, Daredevil's girlfriend-turned-assassin, advertises the danger to her on the cover, but the first page begins somewhere entirely different.

After the compelling visual of Daredevil killed by a head shot pulls us in, we read the captions and realize he's not really dead: we're listening to Bulllseye, his mortal enemy. The last line only hints at the turns the story will take-- before it's over, Bullseye will make Daredevil suffer, though he won't know how much.
