A series of robots designed to hunt and kill Spider-Man, the Spider-Slayers have ranged from humanoid mechs to giant robotic insects. While the Webbed Wonder has managed to overcome each iteration, there always seems to be a new and upgraded Spider-Slayer waiting just around the corner.

Initially they were built by Spencer Smythe under orders from J. Jonah Jameson. However, the radioactive materials he used eventually caused his death and his work was taken over by his son Alistair.

Alistair's hatred for the men he blamed for his father's death eventually led to him outfitting himself with his own technology to become the Ultimate Spider-Slayer. He then murdered Jonah's wife before his own death.
