After his secret identity was leaked to the press by The Kingpin and FBI, Matt Murdock was subsequently arrested and imprisoned for being a vigilante. This was obviously a major status quo shift for the character, and one which Ed Brubaker told masterfully. Surrounded by his greatest enemies in a place with no escape, Daredevil faced impossible odds. He survived though, but just when things were looking bleak for the Man Without Fear, he was broken out by The Punisher! It was during this time that Iron Fist posed as Daredevil to try and fool the public, and Matt was actually behind bars during the superhero Civil War. As a result, don't expect to see Daredevil in Captain America: Civil War this time next year.
