20. He Owns Area 51

Tony Stark is a very rich man. The "billionaire, playboy philanthropist" as Joss Whedon dubbed him in 2012's The Avengers obviously owns a lot of stuff (well, mostly Iron Man suits), but one of his most surprising acquisitions was revealed nonchalantly in the pages of Avengers #19.

Apparently, he bought Area 51 from the military!

There's never actually been any sort of follow up on this, but you have to wonder why the Armoured Avenger would want it in the first place. The government would have cleared out whatever was there when they sold it, so he's probably not building some sort of weird Iron Man/UFO hybrid suit...
