13. The Nazis Hated Him

Before briefly disowning the United States, Superman was one of the most consistently patriotic characters in comic books. It should come as no surprise then that a story featuring the character appeared in Look Magazine in 1940 and tackled the question of how World War II would have played out if the Man of Steel got involved. Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's tale saw Superman quickly dismantle the Nazi war machine and capture a gobsmacked Hitler and Stalin. The Nazi High Command were furious when they heard about this, and published a rambling rebuttal in the pages of the newspaper of the SS.
