The life of a Redshirt is a difficult thing.

Initially, I was nervous when selected for this away mission and it seems my trepidation was rightly placed, New York Comic Con proved to be just as dangerous for a Redshirt as beaming down to Gamma Trianguli IV in a landing party with all the main characters. Even more so in fact.

Because while the jungles of Gamma Trianguli IV certainly have their fair share of dangers, New York Comic Con was a battleground full of hostiles from every time period, realm, galaxy and dimension, armed with all kinds of magic, sharp things, blunt objects, projectile and energy weapons, and good old fashioned punchy-fists. And it was open season on Redshirts.

I took great care creating my dead Redshirt costume, incorporating many different causes of death like poisonous thorns, a Capellan Kligat (basically a space ninja star) and the Horta's acid burns from the classic episode "Devil In The Dark." So believe me when I say that by the time I walked into the Javits Center on the west side of Manhattan, my character was already extremely dead. But the cosplayers attending the convention decided that I just wasn't dead enough.

The result is this gallery of some of the greatest cosplayers at the Comic Con, all gleefully committing murder...

Oliver Queen didn't even need his perfect aim because Redshirts get hit no matter what.
