Davos is an excellent villain and helped show this during the Immortal Iron Fist run of 2006. He's powered by bitterness at the loss of his perceived destiny to Danny Rand. While power hungry, Davos has a reasonable argument - he resents that an outsider has the power he believes should only be destined for citizens of K'un-Lun as the dynamic between Davos and Danny represents a clash of cultures as well as traditionalism vs destiny.

Davos shows discipline in his martial arts, but this is where the discipline ends. During the tournament between the Capital Cities of Heaven he's seen wanting death for opponents even when they yield. As sadistic as he is, he allies with Iron Fist and several heroes of the Capital Cities to defeat hostile outsiders. His actions in the conflict don't excuse him of past crimes but he is henceforth trusted with guarding the ancient egg of Shou-Lao.

Although Marvel's Iron Fist Netflix series wasn't an ideal portrayal of the Iron Fist characters, Davos was a highlight. If he's consistent into the second series we may see Marvel bring his character back to prominence within a major story in the comics.

Gary has been reading Marvel Comics since he was 6 years old. Rather than retain knowledge on things such as Maths or Science - he chose to become a sponge for most things Marvel. He has a longstanding grudge against Iron Man he has harbored since Civil War(2006).
