5 Great Comics That Will NEVER Happen Again

There are some comics that cannot be replicated because of the fact they're responding to a contemporary trend. And then there are comics that simply cannot be remade because there's no way you can one up what has come before. This is the case with Crisis on Infinite Earths.

DC's first Crisis is big in a way that just can't be done again. And we know this because DC has tried multiple times to do that exact thing.

None of them are bad per say (except Heroes in Crisis, because yikes), but none of them have matched the sheer enormity and scale that Infinite Earths achieved and made look easy.

One of the main things that can't be replicated from this comic - and DC has no one to blame but themselves in this particular instance - is the character roster in this tale goes up into the triple digits, due to there not having been any kind of company wide reboot up until then. Heck, even the golden age versions of Flash and Green Lantern were still technically kicking around, while the modern DC continuity lacks that same sense of enormity.

Because of the constant reboots and retcons that happen in DC, good luck ever seeing something this big happening ever again.
