8 Biggest Things To Come Out Of Doomsday Clock #2

3. Ozymandias Meets Lex Luthor...

Doomsday Clock Lex Luthor Ozymandias
DC Comics

While he and Rorschach were doing their research at the library, Ozymandias discovers Lex Luthor, the smartest man in New Earth. Given the fact that he was the smartest man of his own world, Ozymandias decides that the best course of action would be for him to meet up with Luthor.

Adrian Veidt coming face to face with Lex Luthor is a pretty momentous occasion in and of itself, but the way their interaction actually plays out is also fairly peculiar.

After firing an entire team of his scientists, Lex returns to his office to discover that Ozymandias is already there waiting for him. Ozymandias then complements Luthor on his taste in art, while Luthor prepares to call security to have his new visitor thrown out.

However, despite this, Luthor actually decides to hear the man out, listening to the story of how Ozymandias tried, succeeded, and then eventually failed in bringing about peace in his version of Earth. Luthor initially scoffs at Veidt's plan, saying it's no wonder that world peace in his world fell through and quipping "if you're the smartest man on your planet, I'd hate to meet the dumbest."

However, Veidt then makes Luthor an offer, stating that if he helps him in his plans, he will aid Lex's own scientific aspirations, stating that Luthor's drive reminds him of his own. Before Luthor can give an answer, however, the two are joined by an unexpected guest.
