8 Scenes We Definitely Won't See In James Wan's Aquaman

6. Raised By Dolphins

It isn't just dumb sidekicks that held Aquaman back during his early years; daft origin stories played their part too. During the Silver Age, it was confirmed that Arthur Curry was raised by dolphins after being left to die in Mercy Reef as a child.

It turned out that the mammal who took him under her fin was the queen of her species and, awkwardly, his first love was a dolphin called Nera.

Although Arthur eventually realised he belonged with his own species, this chapter of his history can probably be filed under 'things DC wants you to forget about Aquaman' and is unlikely to make it into the film, for a number of good reasons.

Not only does having the Atlantean warrior hold the title of prince of the dolphins fly in the face of the hardboiled image Jason Momoa projects in the lead role, the whole reason the character was abandoned by his parents in the comic books is because of his blonde hair, viewed as some kind of curse in Atlantis.
