Let’s hope that lightning strikes twice for the Merc with the Mouth, as Deadpool aims to return to the silver screen in June 2018!
With the first Deadpool film being both a critical and commercial success, a sequel was always the logical next step. The second film will not be directed by Tim Miller as the first was, but instead will be overseen by David Leitch of John Wick and Atomic Blonde fame. With Tim’s departure also sees the departure of Junkie XL, its original composer, to be replaced by Tyler Bates, who also scored Guardians of the Galaxy.
As mentioned in the post credit scene of the original, Cable, the time traveling mutant with cybernetic augmentations, will be making his cinematic debut alongside the regenerating degenerate, Wade Wilson. The two have taken part in multiple stories in the comics, and fans have waited for years to see the unlikely duo on the big screen.
Ryan Reynolds returns as the title character while Cable is played by Josh Brolin. Joining the boys will be Morena Baccarin as Wade’s fiancé Vanessa, Zazie Beetz as fellow mercenary Domino and Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Heat up the chimichangas!
