9 Huge Predictions For Black Panther

9. A Different Kind Of T'Challa

Black Panther Captain America Civil War

While this will be Black Panther's first solo movie, it will not be his first appearance in the MCU. Throughout his relatively short screen time in Captain America: Civil War, T'Challa goes through an incredible amount of character development, transitioning from a warrior blinded by rage to a mature, wiser man ready to inherit his father's throne.

Similarly to Spider-Man: Homecoming, this gives the movie a head start in that T'Challa is already a complex, well developed character, different to the man we saw throughout Civil War. This development will continue through Black Panther, as there is a big difference between being ready to sit the throne and being prepared to defend it. To echo Odin's words to Thor - "A wise king never seeks out war, but he must always be ready for it".

This reflects the change in T'Challa's role, growing from a Prince into a King and protector of Wakanda. While Civil War saw him chasing vengeance across the globe, his return home will leave him no choice but to grow as both a man and a leader. With a whole nation to depend on Black Panther, there will be no room for the naive, hot-headed fighter he used to be.
