Disney Buys Fox: 8 Epic Storylines The MCU Can Now Adapt

8. Annihilation

If any Marvel comic could match the scale and urgency of their long-running Infinity Saga, it would be Annihilation.

The book rescaled Marvel's cosmic landscape when it released in 2006, featuring key heroes like Nova, Silver Surfer and a newly remodelled Drax dealing with the eponymous (and equally ominous) Annihilation Wave. Led by Annihilus, the Wave embarks on a warpath across the Marvel Universe, threatening all of civilisation and forcing the Skrulls, the Kree, Thanos, Galactus and more to respond.

There's not a book quite like it, and with it actually having laid the groundwork for the kind of cosmic story the MCU has experienced so much joy with since 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, it would be a fitting, if not slightly ironic inclusion for the MCU's post-Phase 4 self.
