8. It's Set Largely Around A Masked Police Force
The most intriguing human presence seen in the extremely short teaser trailer are the masked armed police officers, of which there appears to be an entire department. Inside is a masked dude in a sheriff's hat, presumably the one in charge, and two other distinctly coloured but equally shrouded individuals.
This could possibly herald a new age of institutionalized vigilantism. It is unclear as to whether this vigilante department is government-sponsored, or a renegade outfit fully intent on doing things their own way. But there is no denying the creepiness of the yellow masks.
Let's not also forget that the colour yellow recurs predominately in classic Watchmen, mainly in the iconic forms of Comedian's smiley button and the Doomsday clock. If it turns out that this masked police force are paying homage to either of these items, that could mean some serious implications to their intentions.
The fact that their identities are hidden suggests that their line of work leans more towards the unsavory. But given the corridor scene in the trailer, they at least seem decidedly loyal to their superiors.
