Thor and Loki could be looking for a new home come the end of Ragnarok as the writing appears to be on the wall for the mythical realm.

Ragnarok literally translates as the Norse apocalypse and anyone who's seen the trailers will know Hela is about to trigger it, with images of mass destruction and hammerless Thor flashing across the screen.

In the world of Marvel Comics, Asgard as it's depicted in the MCU is unmade when this cataclysm takes place, and later rebuilt in the US state of Oklahoma.

Infinity War footage shown behind closed doors at Comic-Con found Thor looking like a man without a home, his unconscious form floating aimlessly through space.

All signs point to the MCU following the comic books' lead on this one and destroying Asgard so it can be rebuilt on Earth, possibly by the end of Phase 3.

The only variable is that Asgard plays host to at least one Infinity Stone, which begs the question of how it finds its way into Thanos's clutches...
