Marvel Legacy: 8 Reasons The Fans Should Be Worried

7. It Feels Contrived

Our inner cynic tells us that Legacy was always on Marvel Comics' roadmap, and the way it's going about this soft reboot is transparent.

The publisher was applauded for trying new things when it introduced a new generation of heroes with the last Marvel Now refresh, but we suspect that was all a ploy so it could make a big deal about bringing back its A-team.

The inevitable return of Tony Stark, and Odinson regaining possession of Mjolnir will no doubt be pushed with the usual fanfare, but the whole thing feels like Marvel is sheepishly retreating back to its Heroic Age after certain strategies didn't pan out.

Well aware that change was needed, DC Comics took a bold creative risk with its Rebirth event, and while Legacy is clearly designed to level the playing field, Marvel's line could have used a similarly drastic overhaul.
