8. The Death Of Mighty Thor?
It seems you can't have a game-changing comic book event without killing off a major character (temporarily in most cases), and that doesn't bode well for Mighty Thor.
Marvel was widely applauded for its gender inclusiveness when it elevated Jane Foster to the role of the thunder god in 2015, but these things rarely last forever.
The Mighty Thor will join the Marvel Legacy age from issue #700 in a storyline ominously titled 'The Death of Mighty Thor'.
Illustrated by Stephanie Hans, the milestone issue's cover design pays homage to 1982's Death of Captain Marvel graphic novel, in which the Mar-Vell incarnation of the superhero died of cancer.
Given that Jane is also afflicted with the disease, the hints that her days are numbered are starting to stack up.
Are we about to see Odinson reclaim Mjolnir and become the classic incarnation of Thor once again? Don't bet against it.
