MCU Phase 4: 10 Major Marvel Heroes Who Must Appear

9. Blade

Marvel Comics

In a way, the MCU owes some of its existence to the Wesley Snipes Blade trilogy. These days Marvel pumps out hit after hit, but back in the day superhero movies were often expensive misfires.

While there was some typical nineties action nonsense, a few of the fight scenes from the first two Blade movies hold up surprisingly well. The Daywalker is an immensely cool character, but there may be a problem with synchronicity. His fairly unique comic book stylings might make it difficult for him to mesh with the rest of the gang, with the MCU yet to embrace the more horrific elements of the source-material's supernatural scene.

The majority on this list either have natural links to current MCUers from their comic book past, or fill a viable gap within the universe. The exploits of Tony Stark and the gang don’t seem to be short of a vampire, or for that matter a vampire hunter, but it's important to remember that Blade also has the potential to go much darker and bloodier than Marvel usually do - at least when not on Netflix.

Even if the MCU itself is a bridge too far for Eric Brooks, the cancellation of Luke Cage and Iron Fist could mean there’s a spot open for him to lead a TV show when Disney+ is established.
