MCU Phase 4: 10 Marvel Teams That Could Appear

Who will step in and fill that Avengers shaped void in the universe?

Team-based superheroes have been part of comic books since the very beginning, and that’s crossed over to the silver screen too. The MCU’s flagship has been the Avengers movies, featuring previous solo stars coming together. Initially it was just those under the Avengers banner, but with Infinity War and Endgame it became a catchall for the entire roster.

However, with Tony and Natasha dead, Steve an old man and Hawkeye likely retired, the Avengers as we knew them are no more. That’s before you even get into the fact Vision died in Infinity War too and Thor finished Endgame with the Guardians.

It’s possible that the likes of Captain Marvel, Spidey and Black Panther could step in to keep the franchise going, but it’s also likely that some new teams will join the MCU soon.

Either through existing heroes teaming up, new supers rising or pre-made teams stepping across potential multiverses, Marvel has a deep roster of team ups to call upon.

For what it’s worth, the Eternals haven’t been included here, as their movie starring Angelina Jolie and Richard Madden has been confirmed, while this is purely speculative.

10. Asgardians Of The Galaxy

Thor made a joke about the Asgardians Of The Galaxy, which might have just been a tongue in cheek reference to him usurping Quill as their leader. However, it might also have been an Easter Egg about the real Asgardians being introduced.

The Asgardians are a fairly new comic book team, named as a riff on the Guardians themselves with a similarly offbeat tone. The crew is made up of Valkyrie, Angela, Destroyer, Throg, Skurge and Thunderstrike, though you feel a few changes would be made in the MCU.

Something has to come of Valkyrie becoming queen, though she probably isn’t strong enough to carry the movie on her own. Korg and Miek feel like dead certs, and if Taika Waititi is directing, anthropomorphic frog Throg will surely stay.

Skurge might join after being introduced in Ragnarok, but that’s far from a certainty. Most fans would be pushing for the inclusion of cult favourite Beta Ray Bill, while Destroyer is dead and Thunderstrike is a little meh. Angela might bring along transgender girlfriend Sera too if Asgardians wants to her super progressive.

If the team included Valkyrie, Korg, Angela and Sera, Asgardians could also be the queerest team in comic book movie history.
