Ranking Every DCAU Show And Film Worst To Best

13. Batman & Harley Quinn

Justice League Fatal Five
Warner Bros.

One of Warner Bros.' long line of DC Universe Animated Original Movies, 2017's Batman & Harley Quinn took us back to the world of the DCAU. Though it hasn't been confirmed whether the film is strictly canon or not, it is very much (in the words of Timm himself) a spiritual successor and, if you so much as glance at the animation, you'll recognise that instantly.

Taking more of a comedic tone than expected, the film itself is a hard one to judge. It's undeniably a hoot, and is certainly enhanced by the returns of DCAU vets Kevin Conroy and Loren Lester, but given that it was the first time fans got to revisit this beloved universe in a decade, they were expecting a stronger story.

As the film relied on Harley Quinn, it prioritised lunacy and hilarity over the narrative which, given that this was inspired by the grim and serious Batman: The Animated Series, was just a contrast too far. Furthermore, it featured a troubling number of sexual innuendos which led to certain characters behaving, well, strangely, to say the least.

That aside, it's still a fun adventure that'll undoubtedly bring a smile to your face.
