The Eternals: Everything You Need To Know

1. The Film Should Premiere In 2020

MCU Phase 4

Although Marvel fans have grown accustomed to having no less than three MCU features release in a given year, come 2020, it looks as though the studio will be reverting back to the old format of two. The first film set to premiere that year is Cate Shortland's Black Widow prequel, which holds the tentative release date of May 1, but The Eternals will be coming much later, on November 6.

Filming is apparently set to commence in August with England a mooted destination, which will see the film release months before anticipated sequels to Black Panther and Doctor Strange. 2020, then, could be considered as something of a pallet cleanser for the MCU, with a prequel kicking off proceedings at the beginning of the summer, and a brand new franchise closing things out in the winter.

2020 will prove to be a big year for the MCU, with several live action shows set to feature on Disney's own streaming service and two prequel movies premiering, but the franchise's track record kind of goes without saying at this point. Here's hoping that when The Eternals releases, it can be its next Guardians of the Galaxy.
