Ragnarok and roll.

Thor: Ragnarok had its work cut out at Comic-Con with an impressive Justice League trailer to compete with, but Marvel Studios managed to conjure some extra excitement for the God of Thunder's return.

Ragnarok will mark Chris Hemsworth's third solo outing as the hammer-wielding demigod, and it's easily his most anticipated to date.

The movie promises to be a real game-changer for Thor and the realm of Asgard, and will lead into the events of next year's hero-packed Avengers: Infinity War.

It wouldn't be a Thor film without Loki, and Tom Hiddleston's God of Mischief is indeed back for another outing, alongside all-new cast members such as Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban and Creed actress Tessa Thompson.

Cate Blanchett will portray Ragnarok's big bad, death goddess Hela, while Mark Ruffalo will compete with Thor for the spotlight as the Hulk.

Taika Waititi is directing the movie, and if the trailers are anything to go by, he has a thing for neon-drenched synthesizers and in-depth Norse mythology.

The Comic-Con trailer was the most revealing so far, and it gave us plenty more reasons to be excited about Thor: Ragnarok ahead of its release in October.

10. Thor And Hulk's Bromance

Tony Stark will be overcome with jealously to hear it, but Bruce Banner's bromance with Thor is coming along nicely, for the most part at least.

Glossing over the bit where the Hulk puts the Asgardian through a wall, the Comic-Con trailer finds the pair having a nice catch-up.

"I lost my hammer yesterday, so that's still pretty fresh. Then I went on a journey of self discovery," muses Thor while Banner listens intently.

The pair even fist-bump later on. Boom!

In all seriousness, it's going to be fantastic seeing Hulk and Thor battling side by side for the first time since Age of Ultron, as well as taking on each other in the arena.

That bromance is merely the cherry on top.
