Titans had the quite the interesting debut run last year. The first original series to air on DC's digital streaming service (a.k.a. DC Universe), it initially suffered from a number of teething issues as it attempted to figure out what it was - but like the characters in the show, it often struggled to identify itself as just one thing.

That being said, after a few episodes of uneven storytelling, unnecessary violence and a ton of angst, it began to make significant progress - with each episode gradually improving on what the previous offering did, ironing out almost all of the major issues. And, for a very short time, it became the most compelling superhero show of 2018.

That brings us to the Season 2 premiere. An episode tasked with both wrapping up last season's storyline and kick-starting a new one, 'Trigon' successfully served its purpose, and continued the show's knack of gradual improvement - taking Titans to new heights and setting the stage for what looks like it could be the show we've all been waiting for.

With that, let's get right into the nitty-gritty.

First, the positives...
