When the often-fearful eleven-year-old Tom (Milo Parker - Mr Holmes) discovers a slimy green ghost in his cellar called Hugo, he is understandably afraid. It doesn't take Tom long to realise that Hugo is completely harmless however, and he discovers that this ASG (Averagely Spooky Ghost) is in need of his help. An AIG (Ancient Ice Ghost) has banished Hugo from his own house, and proceeded to spread an arctic cold over the entire town in the middle of summer. To get rid of the AIG and allow Hugo to move back in to his home, they enlist the services of a professional Ghosthunter, Hetty Cuminseed, who has just lost her job at the CGI (the Central Ghosthunting Institute). There is only one problem however, she doesn't like children or ghosts! Only by working together and displaying team work can they defeat the malevolent AIG.
