Fans of Disney's Haunted Mansion might soon be able to watch a documentary based on, well... them.

Director and host of the Creepy Kingdom Podcast, James H. Carter II, has set up a Kickstarter campaign requesting backing for a documentary he wishes to make about this place of happy haunts.

Carter is looking to create "Foolish Mortals", a look at fan culture surrounding the Haunted Mansion ride. As a fan of the attraction himself, Carter is looking to see how the spooky attraction has made an impact on the lives of some of its biggest fans.

In his Kickstarter video, Carter explains how he isn't looking to actually film on Disney property and will instead recreate the mansion digitally.

For him, the film isn't about looking at the secrets of the attraction or some kind of behind the scenes secrets. This is all about the people who love the ride and how it has helped shape their lives in some way.

The crew are hoping to travel all across the globe to see how the ride has influenced the life of its fans.

Carter is also is working with Imagineer Terri Harden to create unique pieces for those who decide to back the movie. Some of the things backers of the campaign could get are a specially made Hatbox Ghost pin or figurine. Disney artist Kevin-John Jobczynski will even turn you into one of the ghosts for the right contribution.

"Foolish Mortals" is being described by Carter as a love letter to the fans of the attraction and being one himself this is likely to be a labour of love.
