006: UNKLE (featuring Ian Brown and Mani) Reign
It might be a tad long but this would make an awesome song for the modern Bond Era. Reign feels suitably epic, with a mix of synth, strings and bass to make a truly unique Bondy sound. Theres a section from 2:55 to 3:40 that just feels like youre listening to a moment from a Bond song. The voice is great too. Ian Brown of The Stone Roses would make an interesting departure from the sultry, haunting tones of many of the great female vocalists or the explosive rock/pop male singers/groups such as Ah Ha or Chris Cornell. And yet his low, synthesised, indie-rock tone would be another fine addition to the pantheon of Bond artists. It doesnt just sound great. Listen to the lyrics.
