007 Fiendish Bond Villain Plans That Were Really Idiotic

I should preface this by saying that I love the James Bond series deeply and sincerely. So when I call the idiotic plots over the films' villains various nasty names, I do so out of love. Yes, the motivations of most Bond baddies don't really make sense when you apply basic human logic to them, but that goes for most movie plots. Why should we get hung up on that when these stories take place in a world where a man can perform superhuman feats of athleticism, where any small object can be made to contain a laser, and where you can have sex with hundreds of women without contracting any venereal diseases? I embrace the silliness of the Bond series, and happily suspend my disbelief.

That being said, it's fun to think about some of these villain schemes are realize just how harebrained they are. We've been doing a whole lot of Bond-related lists in anticipation of the film series's 50th anniversary and the release of Skyfall, so now let's look back on the seven least-sense-making bad guy goals of the lot. We'll see how villain Silva in the latest movie stacks up. Surely he can't do worse than...
