10 2016 Movie Characters Who Probably Died Horrible Deaths

9. Healy & March - The Nice Guys

10 Cloverfield Lane Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Warner Bros. Pictures

At the climax of Shane Black's razor-sharp dark comedy, enforcer Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) and inept PI Holland March (Ryan Gosling) confront corrupt Department of Justice employee Judith Kutner (Kim Basinger).

She expresses zero remorse for her various misdeeds throughout the film, and while she is surely going to jail, the movie ends with Detroit's corrupt car companies getting away scot-free due to a lack of evidence.

The real-life Detroit auto collapse that followed the movie's timeline was of course karmic justice for these companies, but is it really that believable that the companies would let Healy and March just walk away?

After all, with billions of dollars at stake and two pesky individuals who could easily try and crowbar the case against them back open, why wouldn't they just hire a "cleaner" to kill them and make it look like a car accident or something?

When factoring in Healy and March's combined, bumbling ineptitude, they probably met a grim, painful end from either Big Auto or just someone they looked at the wrong way.
