10 Actors Who Get More Hate Than They Deserve

9. Robert Pattinson

101109_robert I, like anyone else with taste, am instantly primed to dislike this guy purely because of his association with the Twilight franchise. If you actually do a little digging, however, it soon becomes clear that he hates it as much as we all do, if not, more. Seriously, just read this quote he gave about how he got the part:
"When you read the book, it€™s like, €˜Edward Cullen was so beautiful I creamed myself.€™ I mean, every line is liked that. He€™s the most ridiculous person who€™s so amazing at everything. I think a lot of actors tried to play that aspect. I just couldn€™t do that. And the more I read the script, the more I hated this guy, so that€™s how I played him, as a manic-depressive who hates himself. Plus, he€™s a 108 year-old virgin so he€™s obviously got some issues there."
They certainly don't sound like the words of a fan. What we have, here, is a clear case of someone that was handed a truck-load of money to do a relatively cushy job (and it's not like his performance doesn't do Edward justice); all with legions of women throwing themselves at him in the process. It's not his fault if he's remarkably fortunate. Hating him is like hating someone for winning the lottery. It's not even like he was selling out by taking the role in the first place, seeing as he didn't have much of an established career before hand. Michael Sheen, on the other hand, is a supremely talented man and should have known better.
