10 Actors Who Play The Same Character in Every Movie

4. Vince Vaughn

Style: Sardonically Loveable Douche I do like Vince Vaughn, but I€™ve yet to see him fully challenge himself dramatically. In almost everything I€™ve seen him in he€™s that sarcastic borderline douchebag who you just can€™t seem to help getting behind. This archetypal trait is probably why he€™s rarely given a straight leading role (it does happen, it€™s just rare); even in one of his more recent vehicles, The Watch, he€™s entrusted only with a spot on an ensemble. In fact think back, some of Vaughn€™s most memorable roles are as the snarky straight guy in a duo or an ensemble: Dodgeball; Swingers; The Wedding Crashers. Hell, he even brings an element of this sardonic delivery to his turn as Norman Bates in the failed 1998 Psycho remake €“ a movie that probably should have spelled the end of several careers if I€™m being honest. But still, Vaughn continued to work after Psycho flopped so unceremoniously and truthfully, I think he€™s much more suited to funny than serious. Vaughn€™s career is still in full-swing but he really would benefit from pushing himself dramatically; from turning away from that consistently similar €˜Vaughn€™ performance to deliver something a little more character based. But can Vince Vaughn breathe life into a character that isn€™t at its core Vince Vaughn? I€™m yet to be convinced, but hey, I€™ve got an open mind.
