10 Actors Who Turned Down Movies For Ridiculous Reasons

9. David Boreanaz €“ Sorry Batman, I Have To Make A Television Show, I Can't Be Bothered With a Pesky Movie Career

Dpp 00012 There is a rumor, possibly an urban legend that David Boreanaz turned down the role of Batman in Batman Begins. If this is true, it has to be asked what the heck was he thinking. What was so important in his schedule, in his life that he felt he had to turn down what would have been for him a breakout role? I will tell you, absolutely fricken nothing! Up until that point he was known for such weird roles as being one of Kelly Bundy's non-descript boyfriends in Married with Children, Buffy's vampire lover in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the tortured soul in his own spinoff series, Angel. As far as movies are concerned, his most famous role was a creepy guy in Valentine. His current TV series, Bones had not even aired a single episode. Bones first aired in September 2005 while Batman Begins release date was in July 2005 Perhaps there was a conflict of scheduling between shooting Bones and Batman but if you had a choice wouldn't you go with the iconic Batman character? A role that, if successfully done, could lead to other movie roles and perhaps a ticket to the A-list of Hollywood? In an ET interview he said that the story of him turning down Batman was a rumor, probably started by his manager. But I say who would want to admit that they turned down such an iconic character on the big screen to stay in television?
